Rudy Cardenas - American Idol 6

Twenty-eight year old Rudy Cardenas, who currently lives in North Hollywood, California, is originally from Venezuela, South America. Rudy is in a band based out of L.A. called m-pact. According to m-pact’s website, they won Billboard’s prestigious “Best Unsigned Band” contest and signed with indie specialty label Primarily A Capella.

According to Rudy Cardenas’ bio on m-pact’s website, he graduated in vocal performance from the University of Northern Colorado. Rudy sang Journey’s “Open Arms.” Simon Cowell said “It’s a no.” Paula Abdul said “Are you kidding me? 1 million percent yes without question.”

Randy Jackson said “I do love the song you know. It is an amazing song. Yeah, someone may have played base in the band. I do think that you’ve got a good voice, so I’m going to say ‘yes, welcome to Hollywood’”
